Flash Reports

Overview of the Flash Reporting System

The Flash Report System allows faster communication of data, in a way that spotlights it as information which is important to credit managers dealing with that account. Time-critical information is sent between credit cycles to alert members of changing situations. Information is automatically included in a special, highlighted section of future regular reports and available online at RiemerNet. Previous Flash Report data is always included, so there is no need to retrieve previous data to obtain a general perspective.

Submitting Flash Reports

There are three sections on the Submit Flash Reports web page.

Account Information

This section is very straight forward. You simply need to provide detailed address information on the account on which you are reporting. The system will not accept incomplete information. The address information you enter is either matched to an existing account in the Riemer database or it is added as a new account by operators at Riemer. If you are entering a Flash Report on a foreign account, it is best to use the Riemer country codes. There is a link next to the country and state fields to pages that list all the codes.

Flash Report Information

This section is used to submit the actual flash report information. There is a drop-down box for the primary and secondary flash report categories. Some categories require you to provide additional information in the comments. For example, if you are submitting a flash report on a company that has filed for bankruptcy, you must provide the case number in the comments. The amount field is the amount of money involved and may be left blank. The Date of Action field is the date the event occurred.

Membership Notification

The last section allows you to control which associations will be notified of this flash event. This section lists all the associations to which you can forward notification, and by default all of them are selected. You may deselect any association in this list to prevent that association from being notified. Your membership information will be identified according to the data exchange rules stipulated by each association.

Viewing Flash Reports

This page displays all recent flash reports that were submited to the association(s) to which you have an affiliation. The time range used can be specified by changing the combo box entitled "Show accounts from the past:" combo box. Simply choose a time range and the list of flash reports is automatically updated. Each account's name is linked to the Flash Report Detail Page.

Flash Reports Detail Page

From the Flash Report page, you can get an Instant Online Report using the link at the top of the page. Each reporting membership is a link to contact information so you can contact the person who submitted the report if you need to.

E-mail Notification System

Following our attorneys' advice never to send sensitive information by e-mail, Riemer has developed a new approach to using the fastest communication possible while maintaining security. Members receive an e-mailed listing of Flash Reports received in the last 24 hours, whether they were submitted online or via fax or mail. The member can then log into RiemerNet to view the details.

Reporting Via Mail or Fax

Members can also report flash information via mail or fax. Riemer Reporting Service provides simple, personalized Flash Report Submission Forms in regular mailings. If you do not have one of these forms, please contact us.

Hard copies of the Flash Reports are mailed or faxed to members regularly. They are also available on RiemerNet.
